DYEING PROCEDURE

The dyestuff is pasted with cold water dissolved by pouring 50 to 100 times its weight of boiling water with stirring.

Tanya exports Direct dyestuffs are dyed from a neutral or alkaline dyebath depending on individual dyestuffs. The dyeings are exhausted with the addition of Glaubers salt or common salt. The quantities to be added are as follows:

For Light Shades

0.5%

Soda Ash

5 - 10%

Glauber's Salt Calc.
or
common salt.

For Medium & Dark Shades

1 - 2%

Soda Ash

15 - 20%

Glauber's Salt Calc.
or
common salt.

The addition of soda ash to the dyebath may be omitted while dyeing blends containing Acetate Rayon where the Acetate component is to be reserved.

The dye-bath is set at 50 - 60oC with soda ash, salt and dissolved dyestuff. The boild out yarn is then entered and worked for 15 minutes. The dye-bath temperature is raised to 90-95oC in 15 to 20 minutes. In order to overcome unlevel dyeing, salt may be added after about 15 minutes of initial dyeing.

For improving the fastness to washing of
Tanya exportsDirect dyestuffs, we suggest an after treatment with dye fixing agent. The dyed goods are treated in a fresh bath containing 2 to 3 gms/litre Dye fixing agent for 30 minutes at pH 6-6.5 at 45oC, The material is then rinsed and dried.
